Replacement of the Rear Wheel Bearing
Unscrew the handbrake adjustment screw to free the cable. Using an Allen key, remove the oil cap from the differential and place a container underneath to collect the oil. Lift the vehicle, secure it, and remove the wheel. Mark the position of the drum relative to the hub with a marker and remove the brake drum using bolts as a puller. Remove the handbrake cable. Dismantle the brake shoe assembly by removing the return springs. Disconnect the brake fluid pipes using the appropriate tool. Place a cloth under the pipes to catch any leaking fluid. Remove the entire hydraulic piston. Remove the ABS sensor and the rest of the brake by detaching the handbrake cable block and the four rear retaining nuts. Use a homemade puller to free the support from the hub and extract the shaft from the differential. Using another DIY puller, extract the faulty bearing. Grease the various brake mechanisms and reassemble. Replace the oil seal and rubber O-ring. Follow the same method on the other wheel. by ScegliAuto More videos
